Global Youth FC Foundation
Our program works hand to hand with school sports. We incentivize education. Our goal is to get our students into universities, junior colleges, and ready to work programs. My name is Abdul Nur and I am the executive director and founder of GYFCF. I have been working within my local school district for the last decade and have seen with my own students how this works. This program elevates students participation in the classroom, increases grades and attendance, through one on one tutoring, participating in after school programs, promoting good lifestyle choices.
Our students come from a multitude of diverse backgrounds and experiences. School sports has become a way to build friendships and connections, and attend other school events together. With the skills we are providing, these students will become future leaders in our community. After graduation, these future leaders are still connected to the program, continuing to impact current members. Some of our past members have become teachers, social works, healthcare providers, engineers, sports athletes, food service providers, truck drivers, and local entrepreneurs. They are our greatest advocates. This helped our youth sports program to grow locally, nationally, and internationally. Our community is a testimony to this success.
We are very confident that this program will work, using football as a vehicle for education. We believe that sports is an essential social impetus. It links together various economic, social, political elements by uniting a lineage of all walks of life. Starting at the local and community levels we effectively contribute towards mobilizing communities to work together for a global cause. Ultimately, our foundation seeks to undertake the challenges of poverty and create a promising outlook.
